Bag Raiders are true icons of the Australian dance scene, coming to Quartyard San Diego on Sunday November 8! After releasing a slew of cult underground cuts (Fun Punch, Turbo Love, Big Fun), Jack Glass and Chris Stracey signed to dance-powerhouse Modular Records and dropped their self-titled debut album Bag Raiders in 2010. With that, the game changed forever. The LP debuted at No. 7 on the ARIA Album Chart, earning nominations for ‘Best Dance Release’ (ARIA), ‘Australian Album of the Year’ (Triple J Awards), and ‘Dance Work of the Year’ (APRA). It featured smash singles Way Back Home, Sunlight, Snake Charmer, and of course festival anthem Shooting Stars – now considered one of the biggest Australian dance tracks of all time. Shooting Stars has become a global phenomenon, amassing over 4 billion online streams, peaking at No. 11 on Billboard’s Dance/Electronic Songs chart, and pulling in 18 million Shazams and counting. Australian music fans voted Shooting Stars the #46 ‘Best Australian Song of All Time’ in Triple J’s 2024 poll. The track has delivered a cultural impact beyond anyone’s wildest expectations, breaking-the-internet a gazillion times through a series of iconic memes. In 2021, Bag Raiders paid homage to the original “man jumping off bridge” meme by creating an exclusive NFT, with proceeds supporting Support Act and Musicians Making a Difference. Overall, Bag Raiders have registered over 245 Platinum and Gold certified discs worldwide. Shooting Stars is 5x Platinum in USA, 7x Platinum in Australia and 1x Platinum in UK.
